The 2015 international photographic art exposition photo la will take place from Friday, January 16, through Sunday, January 18, at The REEF/LA Mart in downtown Los Angeles. Now in its 24th year, photo la is one of the largest and longest-running expositions in the world to focus on photographic art, bringing together leading galleries, museums, universities, and nonprofit organizations from Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America. This year’s photo la will provide an unparalleled showcase of photographic artworks, ranging from 19th Century masterpieces to contemporary, cutting-edge photography-based art.
The 24th annual photo la will launch with its Opening Gala on Thursday, January 15, at 7 p.m. This year, the Gala will honor Catherine Opie, one of America’s preeminent documentarians, and her lifelong contributions to the arts. Additionally, photo la will feature an installation of Opie’s work, which will be on display for the entirety of the weekend.
Tickets for the Opening Gala are $80, with proceeds benefiting the United Way of Greater Los Angeles and The Painted Brain, a Los Angeles-based arts organization. General admission to photo la is $20 in advance; $25 at the door. A three-day pass is available for $35 online; $40 at the door. Programs are ticketed separately. A limited number of all-access passes, which include admission to the Opening Gala, the three-day photo la exposition, and all of its programs, is available for advance purchase at $450. Tickets can be purchased online at: www.photola.com.
