Paramount Pictures released the first full (and pretty impressive) trailer for ARRIVAL, a science-fiction film about a linguist trying to communicate with aliens who have mysteriously arrived on Earth. The film stars Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Forest Whitaker and was directed by Denis Villeneuve who was the man behind the camera for Prisoners and Sicario and is currently working on the Blade Runner sequel. ARRIVAL is based on a short novella by Ted Chiang one of the greatest living science fiction authors. And on top of all that, Jóhann Jóhannsson, who is responsible for the profound, brooding score for Sicario, also composed ARRIVALS’s soundtrack. But watch the trailer and decide for yourself if ARRIVAL is already a strong contender for the best science fiction film of 2016.
