Sulfur crystals littered on the ground. Water splashing from a rotten pipe. Metal on the cargo wagon squeaking. The senses, dazzled by thin air and the burning heat, marvel at the glittering sea of salt. Time feels different, being in Caipe overlooking Salar de Arizaro.

Elusive has been privileged to explore this location with the help of Socompa. Special thanks to their amazing guide Colo. All images by André Volk.
