Anaïs de Lÿs was recently described as “the art world muse and the darling to the global art world elite.” She creates assemblages, paintings, performances, sculptures, installations and videos. Her work has already been acquired by international collectors such as Beth Rudin DeWoody. The young artist is known for her performance art work during which she only wears her canvases. The painting/outfit being used for the performance, titled “The New Rebellion Is Romantic” is De Lÿs’s self portrait, based on an earlier photo taken of her by Lans King. “I am the muse of the artist,” she explained. It’s a relationship with many levels. Following her performances, the canvases are placed on modified dress-forms to create sculptural installations. As we are fascinated about Anaïs de Lÿs ‘ work, we caught up with her for a quick chat.
