MASERATI SNOW & ICE

High Alpine, snow-covered landscapes frame the up-and-coming Andermatt. Here, deep within in the Swiss canton of Uri, the terrain and conditions for the Maserati SNOW & ICE winter training are outstanding. Elusive Magazine has been delighted to attend this exclusive event, where driving a variety of Maserati luxury cars was complemented by the elusive experience of the 5***** Hotel “The Chedi”.

On the day of arrival, we were kindly greeted by Maserati ambassador, and Gault Millau “Chef of the Year 2016”, Nenad Mlinarevic (new 18 Gault Millau points, 2 Michelin Stars). The dinner he and his team had prepared allowed us to get a real taste of his outstanding cuisine. Having been given a tour of The Chedi as well as The Chedi Residences, it became evident to us, why The Chedi has been crowned the Swiss Hotel of the Year.

On the following day, experienced instructors charmingly taught us to push a Maserati closer to the limits whilst driving safely on snow and ice. In these conditions, their new all-wheel-drive line of cars performed particularly well. The elegant Quattroporte Q4 and the agile Ghibli Q4 are both powered by an efficient 3 litre Twin Turbo V6 that delivers a peak of 410 horsepower (302 kW) at 5,500 rpm and credited with a maximum torque, in Sport mode, of 550 Nm at just 1,750 rpm. The amazing specific torque value of 183 Nm per litre ensured an aggressive response that delivered pure excitement with every movement of the right foot.

We are thrilled to share selected impressions of the Maserati SNOW & ICE event below.
