NEW LUXURY HOTEL BY MORPHOSIS ARCHITECTS IN VALS, SWITZERLAND

The American architecture studio Morphosis led by Pritzker Prize-winner Thom Mayne and Swiss firm 7132 Ltd have announced their collaboration for a new luxury hotel in Vals, Switzerland. The design for the hotel is driven by the desire to create an unprecedented experience of the alpine landscape.

The new hotel and arrival is defined by three forms: a podium linking the building with neighboring structures; a cantilever containing a restaurant, café, spa, and bar – public amenities shared with the town; and a tower holding a sky bar, restaurant, and 107 guest rooms with panoramic views.

If it is really built (as we hope), the 381-metre-tall mirrored hotel tower would be the tallest building in Switzerland.
