The French film Raw gained a bit of infamy when it became known as that movie making people faint at the Toronto International Film Festival. Raw is the debut film for director Julia Ducournau. It’s about the young girl Justine who starts out at a veterinary school where she experiences a decadent, merciless and dangerously seductive world. Desperate to fit in, she strays from the vegetarian principles of her family and eats raw meat for the first time. Justine will soon face the terrible and unexpected consequences as her true self begins to emerge. – Sounds strange, but looks gripping.
