This year, Photo Basel welcomes 41 galleries from 15 countries, presenting over 450 photographic works by 150 artists. New galleries for this edition include Anita Beckers (Frankfurt am Main), Doyle Wham (London), In The Gallery (Copenhagen & Palma de Mallorca), inside-out gallery (Brussels), nüüd.gallery (Berlin), POLARWIND (Zurich), SmithDavidson Gallery (Amsterdam, Mexico City & Miami), N.Smith Gallery (Paddington, Australia), AN INC. (Seoul) and Window Fourteen (Geneva).
Photo Basel is Switzerland’s first and only international art fair dedicated to photography-based art. It brings together galleries from all over the world in a unique and authentic setting, positioning itself as an integrative and hybrid platform that connects all the players in the art world, both online and in person. The fair aims to actively contribute to the dialogue and make art photography more accessible. For this year’s 9th edition, in addition to 41 international galleries from 15 countries, Photo Basel offers a diverse supporting programme.
Since 2016, Photo Basel has been located close to Art Basel, in the beautifully renovated Volkshaus Basel by renowned Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron. The Volkshaus Basel is located at Rebgasse 12, just 700 metres from the Art Basel exhibition centre.
